Thanks to both participants!
The winner of Nicole Peeler's Tempest Rising is...
Steph The Bookworm!
Email me at rekitty96@gmail.com with your info and I'll get your book in the mail ASAP. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Since I only had two entrants in this contest, I wanted to send a little something to The Book Junkie as well. If you would, email your info to the same address.
I hope to have more giveaways in the future, so check in now and again. I love giving books almost as much as I love receiving them.

It's My Little Blog Birthday...
Can't believe this blog has been around for two years now.
I originally started this blog after I discovered other naive and folk artists on the web. This brought back my love of creating art, and a desire to share what I do in my own little art bubble with others. Well, she is growing to encompass my love of reading and my desire to share this as well. And I'm loving it.
I've been threatening to share some recent paintings, but I've allowed my lack of a good camera be my excuse for not doing so regularly. I do, though, have a scanner... So no more excuses.
This is Violet. Mixed media on canvas.
I painted her late last year. I had originally intended to make her angry, but she just turned out... not. I worked on her live on Blonde Roots Productions' show on blogtv. (Thank you, beautiful Chandra!)
On the subject of blogtv, I would also like to thank the lovely and talented Karina at Smallflower Sings. On her anniversary show, I was fortunate enough to win a blogtv pro account playing lyrics trivia.
Chandra and Karina usually do weekend shows on blogtv. Please visit them. They're amazing.
In the last post I mentioned a wee surprise...
Somehow I ended up with two copies of Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler.
Weeeeeelllll... I love this book so much that I'd really like to pass my second copy on to someone who really wants to read it. Here's what we'll do... You leave a comment with your email, and I'll draw a random winner on Saturday, January 30th.
Interested?
(I hope so because this book is really funny and there's warmth and sexy and Jane rocks.)
This is my small way of saying thank you for being there. I can't wait to see what the next year will bring.

Well!
Looking back through the blog for the first time in a while, I just realized that today is actually my two year anniversary! I can't believe I almost missed it.
And I can't think of a better time to breathe some new life into the old girl.
Check back later today for a little surprise.
Ack, now I can't wait to get home from work!

A Trying Start
Welcome to a post in which I blather on and try to catch up with the world. Try is the operative word here.
In the past three months I have found a gorgeous new-to-me community here in the blog world. Yes, I’m talking about book bloggers. I’ve been amazed by how open and welcoming this community has been. I’ve become hooked, especially when it comes to the urban fantasy/paranormal romance/young adult genre blogs. As my tastes are pretty eclectic, I’m sure I’ll find blogs for other genres, but for right now I’m happy as a clam (Did I just write that? I mean, how happy are clams anyway?) reading all the new authors I’m discovering and reading blogs by people who love to read as much as I do.
Since last November I’ve entered lots of contests, and won several. (Must take a moment’s pause here to squeal –yes, squeal- with delight.) Belated thanks to the following bloggers for their generosity.
I won:
*Strange Angels and Night Shift by Lilith Saintcrow from Book Chick City
*The first six books in the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian from What Book Is That?
*Three Days to Dead by Kelly Meding from That’s Queen Bitch To You
*Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler from Cherry Mischievous
*Rose Red DVD from Book Reader Times
If you haven’t already, please swing by their pages and show them some love. I think you’re in for numerous treats.

Sorry About the Chaos...
I've been going through templates left and right and hurdy and gurdy. I know. Been searching for something perfect, and while there are some gorgeous things out there, I just haven't been finding things that look exactly how I want, while providing the features and... I'll admit it... the ease of use that I need. I've been letting this get in the way of getting much content on here.
Well, I found this one, and I like it a bunch. I think it will stay for a while.
*Sigh of relief.*
Now I need to go paint a book and read a canvas... or something like that. Thanks for being there and being patient.

And also lust over the idea of my very own e-reader. Do you? Well, we have a shot! Anya Bast and Lauren Dane are giving away a nook... and as though that isn't enough, they're also giving away free books!
Click here to enter Curl Up with a Book…and a Nook Contest: http://www.anyabast.com/2009/12/21/curl-up-with-a-book-and-a-nook/
I love it! Hurry, though. This ends January 5th.
